Members of the Beyond Radio presenting team have been recognised at this year's station awards.
Held every year at the annual Beyond Radio Christmas get-together, the awards recognise the all year-round work of our team of mainly volunteers.
Duncan Moore, Beyond Radio's Head of Community Programming, hosted the event held at Squires in Lancaster on Sunday afternoon.
Duncan revealed that this year, Beyond Radio has broadcasted a total of 2850 shows.
He said that highlights of 2025 included when Duncan and Greg Lambert, our head of communications, were invited to meet His Majesty King Charles at Lancaster Castle - a huge honour for the radio station.
Beyond Radio also hosted its first ever 'Big Night Out' - a variety night showcasing the best in local talent - at the Lancaster Grand earlier this year.
We continued to get out and about supporting other local events and festivals, and also continue to broadcast every Morecambe Football Club match with live commentary.
This year our shows have also featured more interviews with local people than ever before - on our community shows including The Resident, Beyond the Headlines, Saturday Sport Show, Beth Across the Bay, The Unsigned Show and Waterside Weekly.
Showing that Beyond Radio is truly global, as well as real local radio, we have had people from 181 different countries visit our website this year!
Beyond Radio also developed our range of podcasts in 2025 - which now include The Morecambe Wrestling Podcast, Happy Talk with Bryan Griffin, Beyond Sanctuary, Beyond Expectations with Matilda Walden, Voices of Morecambe Bay and others. Our podcasts had more than 180,000 download requests in total, in 2025 to date.
