Beyond Radio to unveil new sound and new line-up

Andy Lawson, Dave Salmon and Dom Molloy are the new Beyond Radio Daytimes line up

Beyond Radio has announced plans for a new sound and a new line-up to follow on from our recent new look.

Following the launch of our new website and logo earlier this month, your real local radio station will be refreshing our weekday daytime and evenings schedule from Monday June 2.

As part of this, we will welcome our new Breakfast Show presenter, Andy Lawson.

Andy will be waking you up on Beyond Breakfast from 6am to 10am Monday to Friday.

Dave Salmon will move from the Afternoons show to the new More Music Workday show from 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday.

And Dom Molloy will move from Breakfast to the new Beyond Drive show from 3pm to 7pm Monday to Friday.

Our Beyond the Headlines weekly local news show, hosted by Greg Lambert and Dave Salmon, will be moving from Fridays to a new 9am to noon slot on Sundays.

You can also still hear Phill Hayward, who has presented on Daytimes for the last five years, on his regular Guess the Local Year show on Sundays from noon to 3pm, and his new And the Beat Goes On show on Saturdays at 10pm.

Beyond Radio is also refreshing its weekday evening schedule with some changes to programme time slots, but still featuring the familiar voices and specialist music, and local community and information programming, our listeners have come to expect from us.

The Quick Draw Radio Show with Phil McGrath will be moving from Mondays to a new slot on Wednesdays at 7pm.

On the Record - our jazz, big band and swing show with Miss Harri Deane - will move from Wednesdays to Thursdays at 7pm.

The Folk and Acoustic Show with Chris Denerley will also move from Wednesdays, to Thursdays at 9pm.

The Resident with Greg Lambert is also shifting in its Tuesday night slot, to a new time of 7pm to 9pm.

As part of the changes, listeners will be able to hear a refreshed on-air sound to Beyond Radio with new jingles and promos.

But here's what's not changing! We will continue to bring you what Beyond Radio has become known for - a popular mix of hits, classic oldies and local music, alongside regular local news bulletins, weather, coastal reports, What's On and a fantastic array of community and specialist music programming, and local information, for the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay area.

"For the last nine years Beyond Radio has been broadcasting across the North Lancashire area and we've established ourselves as the only truly local radio station covering the Lancaster, Morecambe and Carnforth district," said Duncan Moore, head of community programming and personnel at Beyond Radio.

"Last year we conducted an audience survey and we listened to what you said, so with your comments in mind and our desire to make Beyond Radio bigger and better and even more relevant to our community we felt the time was right to make some changes.

"The new programme line-up here at Beyond Radio I think will give our listeners the perfect soundtrack to their day. With new and familiar voices and a fresh on-air sound, I hope you'll like what your local community radio station will be bringing you.

"Our extended Daytimes will still deliver what you've come to expect from Beyond Radio, a great mix of local, new and favourite music tracks, local news and community information.

"Our evening and weekend shows will still focus on community programming and specific styles of music, which you don't often hear on other radio stations.

"I'm really excited to welcome the fresh new sound of Beyond Radio to the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay area and I hope you'll enjoy what you hear.

"Over the summer months we'll also be more active out in the community, so make sure you come along and see us."
