First 'behind the glass' Ukrainian food shop opens in Lancaster shopping centre

A store where you can watch cooks produce traditional Ukrainian food has opened in a Lancaster shopping centre.

Multicook has opened its doors at 6 James Lane in Marketgate, offering Ukrainian and Eastern European cuisine.

A team of experienced cooks produce a wide range of handmade frozen food in-store, including crepes, dumplings and other delicacies.

Customers can watch the dishes being cooked in a first-of-its-kind 'behind the glass' production for Lancaster.

The shop, below, had its grand opening on April 12.

"We are delighted to introduce the first store with the 'Behind the Glass' production in Lancaster to serve the finest Ukrainian and Eastern European cuisine," said a post on Multicook Lancaster's social media pages.

"You will be able to taste and we are sure that you will enjoy the dishes that are the most popular in Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Georgia...

"Each visitor to the store will be able to see the process of cooking all the dishes with their own eyes, as we take pride in offering an exceptional culinary experience with our Behind the Glass production, where customers can enjoy a variety of freshly made semi-processed foods, as well as taste them during tastings.

"Absolutely all dishes will be made from local Lancashire products, as our suppliers are local farms.

"Our main mission is to make you happy enjoying the fresh delicious food that is easy to prepare within only five minutes in any kitchen.

"So you will definitely have more time for your family and life balance."

Multicook is one of a number of new businesses in Lancaster city centre, also including Tofos on Common Garden Street and Domain boutique hotel on New Street.

Lancaster BID (Business Improvement District) welcomed the new businesses to the city in a post on their social media pages.
