New book shop opens in Morecambe after move from market

A second-hand book shop owner has moved into new premises in Morecambe town centre.

Lost at Sea book shop has opened at 19 Victoria Street.

Owner Chris Wood had previously sold books at the Festival Market for more than a decade before making the move.

The store sells a range of books in genres including crime, sci fi and fantasy adventure, war, biographies and children's.

The new shop opened its doors on Tuesday September 1.

"The doors are officially open at Lost at Sea Bookshop!" said a post on the Lost at Sea Facebook page.

"To all our wonderful old customers - welcome back! We’re so excited to see familiar faces and continue the journey with you. 

"And if you’ve never visited us before…come on in! 

"Whether you’re searching for your next great read, a forgotten favourite, a bargain, or simply fancy a browse, there’s plenty waiting for you on the shelves."

Chris received messages of support from other booksellers in the town.

The Old Pier Bookshop on Marine Road posted: "Fantastic news, established bookseller opens bookshop in Morecambe."

And the team from The Borrowed Book, set to open soon on Pedder Street, posted: "Good luck! We will try to pop over and say hello."
