An event next month will mark the official opening of a new branch of a local care provider in Lancaster city centre.
Horizons Homecare has moved into the building formerly occupied by the Simply Baby store on North Road.
The company said they offer a family focused service that aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people across Lancaster, Morecambe and surrounding areas.
It is their second branch, with the firm also serving Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde from their base in Blackpool town centre.
The Lancaster branch is open from now, but the company said they are inviting local residents, business owners and health and social care professionals to join them for a Grand Opening and Networking Event next month, to build new connections, celebrate local enterprise and introduce the organisation’s approach to high quality homecare.
Russell Crossley, Managing Director of Horizons Homecare, said: “We feel privileged to move into a building that holds so many memories for local people.
“Our goal is to bring that same sense of trust, kindness and reliability to adults who wish to remain independent in their own homes.
‘’Julie Shaw who was the owner of Simply Baby and now a Director for Lancaster BID has accepted our offer to officially cut the ribbon and declare the new branch open.”
The Grand Opening and Networking Event will be held on January 15, from 5pm, featuring complimentary fizz and nibbles, welcome speeches and a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Horizons Homecare said the evening has been designed not only to introduce them to the area, but also to bring Lancaster’s professional community together. Local businesses are invited to bring business cards, flyers and leaflets so attendees can discover new services, share expertise and spark future collaboration.
The Lancaster branch will provide domiciliary care, companionship, medication support, complex care, daily living assistance and completely bespoke care planning, with each visit is designed to support independence, dignity and quality of life for adults who wish to remain in their own homes.
Horizons Homecare said they hope the event will mark the beginning of long-term collaboration with local charities, community groups, businesses and professionals.
“We want to be a positive and active part of Lancaster," said Mr Crossley.
"This branch is not just about care. It is about joining a community, supporting local people and building strong relationships that benefit everyone."
