A Morecambe singer-songwriter has been praised on TV by Marti Pellow after penning three songs for his latest album including his new single.

Natasha Bates wrote three tracks for Pellow's new release 'The Game' including the single 'Narcissista', released last week.

Natasha also sings backing vocals on the album and is set to join the former Wet Wet Wet star on his 'Love Is All Around' tour later this month.

Marti appeared on ITV show 'Loose Women' earlier this week where he spoke about his new music, and Natasha's involvement.

"(I have) these wonderful backing singers, and I asked Natasha Bates, do you fancy writing a song together, and she was very much up for that," he said.

"It was nice to get that female perspective. There is a song called 'Taking Back My Soul'...and it was nice for me to interpret that from the gift of her imagination.

"'Narcissista' is about powerful women and that role reversal."

'The Game' will be out later this month.

Pellow is renowned for his work as lead singer with Scottish pop-soul band Wet Wet Wet, who had three number one singles in the UK charts between 1988 and 1994.

Natasha is a regular backing vocalist for Marti and also soul music icons Soul II Soul, and recently appeared with both at the BBC Radio 2 in the Park festival in Chelmsford.
