Former Morecambe FC manager Derek Adams has returned to the game as new Director of Football at Plymouth Argyle.
The ex-Shrimps boss has been appointed by the League One side, where he was manager from 2015 to 2019, and will have responsibility for the men’s first team.
Adams and Morecambe FC parted ways during the summer, when the Scot was replaced by Ashvir Singh Johal following the takeover of the club by Panjab Warriors.
This brought the 50-year-old's third spell at Morecambe to a close.
During his time with the Shrimps, Adams led the club to its all-time highest position of League One in 2021, only for Morecambe to be relegated back to League Two in 2023 and then to the National League in 2025.
Argyle said that Adams’ role will "manage the men’s first-team structure and support Head of Football Operations David Fox and Head Coach Tom Cleverley, providing strategic guidance rather than day-to-day coaching responsibilities".
