The Morecambe Football Club Director of Fan Engagement has resigned after four-and-a-half months in the role.
Tarnia Elsworth has stepped down with immediate effect, the club announced on Wednesday.
Ms Elsworth, former chair of the Shrimps Trust supporters' group, was appointed in September 2025 to provide a link between Morecambe fans and the club after it was bought by owners Panjab Warriors.
The local businesswoman's role was to lead the club’s strategy for fan and business engagement, working with the ownership, the directors and team, the Shrimps Trust and wider fanbase, the Morecambe FC Community Foundation (the club's official charity), and the wider community.
On Wednesday, she told Beyond Radio: "Given the loss of many key roles within the club in the months since my appointment, the time commitment was more than I could sustain in a voluntary position.
"After an upcoming holiday, I will look forward to cheering the team on from the terraces with my family and friends.
"As local business owners we will also continue to support Morecambe Women as sponsors, and will remain friends of Morecambe FC Community Foundation."
Ms Elsworth stepped down as chair of the Shrimps Trust in the summer, after being front and centre of the fight to save the Shrimps during the financial and ownership crisis that gripped the club and threatened its very existence.
Her departure leaves chairman Kuljeet Singh Momi, and Harjit Singh as the remaining Morecambe FC directors.
A spokesperson for Morecambe FC said: "Tarnia Elsworth has resigned from her role as Director of Fan Engagement with immediate effect.
"Everyone at Morecambe Football Club thanks her for the support she has given to the club during a difficult period.
"As a keen supporter of the club, we know she will be looking forward to continuing her support of the club from the terraces, with her family and everyone at the club wishes her all the best."
A number of other key personnel have left Morecambe FC in recent months, including former co-chairmen Rod Taylor and Graham Howse who resigned as directors in December, and former general manager Rob Smith.
Morecambe currently lie second from bottom of the National League, in danger of their third relegation in four seasons from their highest position of League One.
Last week club legend Jim Bentley, Wembley-winning captain when the Shrimps were promoted to the Football League at Wembley in 2007, returned for his second spell as manager, replacing Ashvir Singh Johal.
The Shrimps Trust, commenting on Ms Elsworth's resignation, said: "The Shrimps Trust acknowledges the resignation of Tarnia Elsworth as Director of Fan Engagement.
"We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Tarnia for her time, professionalism, and openness in her dealings with the trust,
"She has been fantastic to work with and alongside, providing a reliable, transparent and direct communication link between the club and the trust, ensuring queries were acknowledged and responded to in a timely manner. We wish her well for the future.
"Following Tarnia's departure, we also feel it important to update members on communication with the ownership.
"Our open letter to Panjab Warriors and subsequent attempts to make contact with them were made in good faith and with the intention of establishing clear and constructive dialogue. Despite our best efforts, these have not yet received a response.
"The trust remains fully committed to open, transparent and regular communication with the ownership group. However, meaningful transparency requires engagement from both sides and is not something the trust can deliver unilaterally.
"A number of important questions remain unanswered. These are matters that supporters rightly care about and which influence confidence in the club's direction. We will continue to pursue clarity on these points in a measured and responsible manner.
"At the same time, we want to be absolutely clear that the trust is 100 per cent behind Jim Bentley and the team during this extremely important period on the pitch. Our shared priority is to ensure focus can turn fully to supporting the players and manager through a crucial run of fixtures.
"The trust stands ready to play its part in maintaining a positive and united environment around the club. We will continue to keep members informed as and when we are able."
The statement comes after the trust issued an open letter to Morecambe chairman Kuljeet Singh Momi on January 23, asking for answers to several questions about various key issues at the club.
