Apple juicing, cooking demonstrations, community displays and a big shared lunch will be on the menu at Lancaster’s annual Harvest Feast.
You’ll be able to meet fellow food enthusiasts, growers, food club organisers, fermenters, plotters, composters and cooks, and exchange tips and recipes at the event at Kanteena on Sunday September 7.
Activities will include cooking demos, apple juicing, music, and displays from local organisations to share all the great work happening in the Lancaster District - including growing, composting, and sustainable food practices.
Attendees are encouraged to bring apples to juice (between 11am and 12.30pm) and a seasonal dish to share for the feast, which starts at 12.30pm.
You’ll also be able to find out more about FoodFutures’ Gold Sustainable Food Places Campaign, and make a pledge to help.
“The Harvest Feast has become one of the few times in the year when veg growers - whether they grow a few beans in their back yard, have an allotment or support a local farm - can gather together to celebrate the fruits of their labour," said Anna Clayton, FoodFutures coordinator.
“It’s exciting to see this event brought to Kanteena for the first time and to welcome a wider range of folk from across the FoodFutures network too.
“I can't wait to feast and to taste the fresh apple juice!”
The Kanteena bar will be open, but feel free to bring home-made drinks to taste.
The event, which has been organised by FoodFutures North Lancashire, will be held between 11am and 3pm.
