Morrisons have announced a new date for opening a new 'Daily' store on a main road between Lancaster and Morecambe.
Nearby residents contacted Beyond Radio after receiving leaflets through their letterboxes announcing the store at 411 Lancaster Road was due to open on three different dates, the most recent being January 22 - but it has still not opened.
We asked Morrisons when the store will open and a spokesperson for the supermarket chain said this week: "We are currently working towards launching the store in spring, we will be in touch if we have any further information."
A sign first went up in the window of the premises near Torrisholme Square, announcing the opening of a new Morrisons Daily, last autumn.
Morrisons Daily is a franchise offering brand products from leading supermarket chain Morrisons to independent retailers.
There are currently more than 1,600 Morrisons Daily convenience stores across the UK and the Channel Islands.
Morrisons Daily stores sell groceries, fresh produce, and essentials.
The empty unit on Lancaster Road has been used in the past for a decorating supplies store and a flooring and garden turf shop, but has been unoccupied for some time.
In August, we reported that International Mini Market Off Licence Ltd had applied to Lancaster City Council for a premises licence at 411 Lancaster Road.
This was for the supply of alcohol for consumption off the premises only, on Monday to Saturday (8am to midnight) and Sunday (9am to 11pm).
