Stars of the thriving Lancaster and Morecambe area musical theatre scene celebrated a big night of awards wins.
The District 11 NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) Awards took place on Saturday and there were many winners from our local area.
Winners will go on to the NODA North West Awards in May.
Last year Morecambe Warblers put on 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' at the Lancaster Grand and the production won several awards.
Benji Pollitt (Joseph) won Best Youth Performance of a Male Character in an Adult Production; Ashleigh Hartin (Narrator) won Best Leading Female Character in a Musical; The Brothers won Best Ensemble Performance and Angela Potter won Best Musical Director.
MAODS (Morecambe Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society) were also successful for their Lancaster Grand musical 'Annie'.
Annie won Best Staging of a Musical; Mark Elliott won Best Leading Male in a Musical for his performance as Mr Warbucks and Abi Jones (Annie) won Best Youth Female Performer in an Adult Production.

LADOS (Lancaster Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society) also won awards for their 2025 show 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'.
Suzanne Ward won Best Director of a Musical, Holly Brown won Best Choreographer of a Musical and Neil Townsend (Grandpa Joe) won Best Supporting Actor in a Musical.

MY Theatre in Morecambe took home numerous awards for their show 'Legally Blonde Jnr'.
They won Best Youth Musical, Best Vocal Performance in a Youth Musical (Abi Jones as Elle Woods); Best Leading Female in a Youth Musical (Abi Jones as Elle Woods); Best Supporting Female in a Youth Musical (Iya Doctor as Vivienne); Best Comedy Performance in a Youth Musical (Amber Harvey as Paulette); Best Director of a Youth Musical (Sophie Butler) and Best Musical Director of a Youth Musical (Claire Allcock).

Lancaster Red Rose AODS also celebrated a win as Kira Cherrington won 'Best Supporting Female' for her role as Judy in '9 to 5' at the Lancaster Grand.
"Well done to all our local friends from other societies on your wins!" said a post on the Lancaster Red Rose AODS page.
