The team at a Lancaster community and arts centre are thrilled after a grant of £220,617 from the National Lottery.
The funding for the Gregson Centre on Moor Lane will support their work as a vital community hub over the next four years.
The centre will use the funds to expand the team, attract more volunteers and launch a wellbeing programme in the community.
The Gregson, which hosts various community activities, live music and more, closed during the Covid pandemic and only reopened thanks to the hard work of volunteers.
The building itself dates back to 1889, and the Gregson Community Association, the charity that runs the centre, is 43 years old.

A post on the Gregson Facebook page, announcing the award from the National Lottery Community Fund, said: "We are firmly into the next stage of the Gregson’s story.
"We want to say a huge thank you to everyone for getting the Gregson to this point. The future of this incredible community-owned asset could have looked very different after the pandemic, but because of your support, our charity has gone from strength to strength.
"Now, we’ve been nationally recognised for our efforts - for your efforts in recent years and over the decades. The next step is to look towards the future, and ensure that this feel-good-story continues.
"This funding is an investment into the next phase of the Gregson. It will allow us to flex and expand our staff team, engage with more volunteers, and collaborate with local organisations through a Wellbeing Programme - offering five groups a year support to deliver targeted work in our spaces and engage the most underrepresented people in our community.
"Ultimately, the funding will support planning for the long-term environmental and financial sustainability of the Gregson’s historic Victorian building, ensuring it can continue to serve our community for generations to come.
"There’s never been a more exciting time to get involved in the Gregson as we continue to develop this incredible community asset and dream big about the future. So, why not get involved?"
