A free Track Night will be held at a Lancaster sports club to help support women and girls to feel safer while out walking and running.
The session on Wednesday August 12 at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre running track is being run by Track Nights, Morecambe Area Police and the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner.
It will feature the launch of the police's Pink Safety Club initiative and the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner's #getthemessage campaign.
The session will be led by guest women coaches, with Morecambe Area Police handing out Pink Safety Club kits and sharing more information about the project.
Representatives from the NHS will also be there to offer support and advice.
"The theme of the night is raising awareness and support to help women and girls feel safer while out walking and running in our community, especially as we head into the darker evenings," said a post from Track Nights running club.
"We are very lucky to have a line-up of strong, inspirational women PTs who have volunteered to lead the session as guest coaches for the night.
"We are also extremely grateful to Salt Ayre Leisure Centre and its team, not only for allowing us to use the track free of charge, but also for their support with setting up on the night and preparing everything behind the scenes.
"McDonald’s has also kindly offered free water for the runners taking part, while Morrisons will be providing fruit, which we greatly appreciate.
"You’re really not going to want to miss this one!

"PC Katie Foster will be attending and the event is open to everyone - all ages, genders and abilities - so we would love to see you there!"
#GetTheMessage is a "behaviour change campaign aimed at men and boys to highlight the impact of low-level harassment on women and girls", said the Police and Crime Commissioner.
It is focused on offences such as public harassment, unwanted or inappropriate comments, including online, that often make the recipient feel uncomfortable, objectified or unsafe.
"We want to call this behaviour out and challenge harmful actions that can impact women and girls’ feelings of safety – and get young men to be active bystanders and allies to challenge the behaviour of their peers," says the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner's website.
The event starts at 6pm.
