An arrest has been made after security guards at a Lancaster supermarket detained a man who'd allegedly tried to hide two joints of meat in his trousers.
A Lancaster Area Police spokesperson said officers were called to Asda Superstore on Ovangle Road in the early morning of Thursday November 5, to a suspected shoplifting.
It was reported by staff that a man had made his way to the meat section, attempted to conceal two large joints of meat in his trousers before leaving the store, making no attempt to pay, before he was detained by the security guards.
Officers arrested a man in his 30s at the scene on suspicion of theft from a shop.
*Aaron Hendron, 37, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of theft from a shop and will next appear before Lancaster Magistrates' Court on November 20.
