The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra will perform as part of a series of free music events for school children at Morecambe Winter Gardens.
The world famous symphony orchestra will be perform in a Concert for Schools at the historic theatre on April 20 2027.
The event is tailored for Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils and features classical masterpieces, songs from musical theatre, video game soundtracks, a live musician Q&A, and 'BBC Ten Pieces' curriculum resources.
London Festival Opera will also grace the Winter Gardens stage during an expanded schedule of educational events designed to inspire youngsters and give them a taste of classical music, appearing in 'Opera Magic' on April 15 and 16 2027,
Opera Magic is an interactive, one-hour production introducing Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils to the world of opera through storytelling, world-class performers, and interactive choruses.
The performances come as the circle - the floor overlooking the main auditorium of the Grade II* listed theatre - is being refitted to increase capacity at the venue.
The circle is the middle of three floors at the theatre, and will be in use for the first time since the Winter Gardens closed almost 50 years ago, with seating for 400-450 people.
"These educational music performances come at an exceptionally important time for the restoration of the Winter Gardens," said Professor Vanessa Toulmin, chair of Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust.

"Following the refitting of the circle, we are able to open our doors to even larger audiences and continue breathing new life into this iconic building.
"The Winter Gardens Preservation Trust is absolutely delighted to host these world-class events for the young people of Morecambe and the wider Lancashire area, offering them the opportunity to experience the magic of live orchestral and opera performances within their local landmark venue."
Jennifer Redmond, producer of BBC Philharmonic Learning, said: "The musicians of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra are looking forward to performing at Morecambe Winter Gardens with our exciting performance of music from flagship music education initiative, BBC Ten Pieces.
"We’re delighted to be working with Lancashire Music Hub and Morecambe Winter Gardens to bring these performances to local schools and families, giving us the opportunity to share the joy of live music with audiences across Lancashire.”
The initiatives will be presented in partnership with Morecambe Town Council.
Morecambe schools will be granted an exclusive two-week priority registration window before bookings open to schools across the wider Lancashire region, ensuring local students benefit directly from these opportunities.
Entry is completely free for all participating Lancashire schools, with registration managed via the Lancashire Music Hub.
Events are scheduled to go out to schools on Wednesday November 4.
“We believe it is vital that children in Morecambe can access high-quality cultural performances at an early age, providing inspiring and exciting new
experiences that may lead to a hobby, career, or discovery of a life-long passion," said Councillor Lee Bradbury, chairperson of Morecambe Town Council’s Festivals, Sponsorships and Events Committee.
"We are pleased to be able to maximise this opportunity for Morecambe's young people by bringing these events to the Winter Gardens – events that, for many, will be their first experience of opera or orchestral music.”
The events are supported by a coalition of regional arts and civic bodies, including Lancashire County Council, Lancashire Music Hub, D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, Friends of Lancashire County Ensembles (FLCE) and Morecambe BID.
A phased project is ongoing, for the Winter Gardens to operate full-time once again, for the first time since 1977.
Work has been taking place on building an extension on the theatre to house 38 toilets and a lift.
Meanwhile a full electrical rewiring of the venue has been done and a new fire alarm system installed.
Stained glass has been restored, painting and decorating is continuing with colour schemes faithful to the theatre's over 125-year history, a new back door has been fitted behind the stage, and new supports fitted to strengthen the stage itself.
The overall aim is to make the Winter Gardens one of the biggest live music venues in the North West.
"This time next year it will be completely operable as a 1200-1600 capacity," said Professor Vanessa Toulmin, chair of the trust, speaking to Beyond Radio in August.
