Police are investigating after a motorcycle was stolen from a garage in the Greaves area of Lancaster.
The burglary occurred in the early hours of Monday, October 26, with the vehicle recovered soon after a short distance from where it was stolen.
PC Joe Danson from Lancaster Area Police said: ‘’If you own a garage, shed or any other outbuilding, we would strongly encourage you to ensure they are kept locked and are secure overnight and/or whenever you are not using them.
‘’Opportunist thieves often target locations where valuable items can be accessed quickly and easily.
‘’Always ensure garages, sheds and outbuildings are securely locked, even when at home.
‘’Consider fitting additional security measures such as ground anchors, security bars, alarms or CCTV, and use high-quality locks and chains to secure motorcycles and bicycles inside garages.
‘’Your vigilance helps prevent crime and protect our community.’’
