Former pupils of Morecambe Bay Academy are invited to a special evening where an acclaimed local artist's unique print of the school will be launched.
The print by Chas Jacobs will be revealed at the school's alumni evening on Thursday November 19.
Chas' distinctive artwork is loved around the area and all over the world, and he is renowned for his prints of landmarks and scenes around the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay area.
He began painting as a hobby more than 20 years ago, whilst working as an electrician.
While living on St George’s Quay in Lancaster he was inspired to use hot air balloons as a trademark in his paintings, by a balloon which he saw floating down the river.
His artwork is inspired by the people, architecture and landscape of Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding area, and is collected by art lovers from New York to New Zealand.
"Calling All Former Students and Friends of Morecambe Bay Academy!" said a post on the school Facebook page.
"We'd love for you to join us for a special evening at school as we reconnect with old friends, share memories, and celebrate our school community.
"We're delighted that Chas Jacobs will be attending, and we're excited to officially launch a Chas Jacobs print of the school. This unique piece is sure to bring back many fond memories!
"Enjoy a festive atmosphere with mulled wine and mince pies, take a trip down memory lane, and catch up with fellow alumni and former staff.
"Whether you left a few years ago or several decades ago, it would be wonderful to welcome you back."
The school was founded as Morecambe Grammar School in 1919, before moving to its current site on Dallam Avenue in 1938.
In 1973 it merged with Euston Road school and was renamed Morecambe High School, before becoming an academy in 2019.
The alumni evening runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. You can reserve a spot HERE.
