A Morecambe sports and social club has been burgled on its first night after reopening.
There was a break-in at the Trimpell overnight after it reopened its doors on Friday afternoon for the first time since early August.
Police said two windows were smashed to gain entry to the Out Moss Lane club and nothing was taken.
The club committee said, in a statement, that the break-in was "disappointing and heartbreaking", and the damage delayed opening at the club on Saturday.
"A sad start to our reopening weekend," it said.
"Unfortunately, we have some upsetting news to share.
"After everything that has gone into getting Trimpell Sports & Social Club back open, and after finally welcoming everyone through our doors again last night, we are devastated to say that the club was broken into overnight and two of our windows have been smashed.
"It’s incredibly disappointing and heartbreaking, particularly when we’ve worked so hard over the last few months to get the club back up and running. Last night was supposed to mark a fresh start for Trimpell, and we were so looking forward to building on that.
"We now need some extra time this morning to deal with the damage and make sure the premises are safe.
"It’s upsetting to think that after all the hard work, time and effort put in by so many people, this is how our reopening weekend has started.
"Trimpell isn’t just a building; it’s a community club that means a great deal to so many people.
"Thank you to everyone who came out to support us last night and to everyone who continues to stand by us.
"Let’s not let this take away from the fresh start we’ve worked so hard for."

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "This was reported to us at 10:30am on Saturday.
"The burglary has happened sometime between 2am and 9.30am.
"Two windows were smashed to gain entry. Nothing was taken.
"Any witnesses or anyone with information, please contact 101 – quoting log 0539 of 31st October."
The club on Out Moss Lane closed its doors on August 3.
The committee that runs the club said, at the time, they were closing due to advice from the local authorities that urgent safety works were needed at the premises.
Then in September, it was announced that the club would reopen.
"After what has been an incredibly difficult and uncertain time, we are absolutely delighted to finally be able to share the news we’ve all been hoping for — our club has been saved!" said a post on the Trimpell Facebook page at the time.
The Trimpell on Out Moss Lane opened in October 1956, built at a cost of £20,000 on playing fields owned by three companies - Trinidad Leaseholds, Imperial Chemical Industries and Shell Oil.
As Trinidad Leaseholds and Shell wound down their operations in Heysham, ICI became the sole patron until 1980, when with the new power station at Heysham, the Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB) purchased the playing fields, took over their maintenance and joined ICI as one of the club patrons.
After the break up of the CEGB, the successor companies played a smaller and smaller role in the club and eventually sold back the land to ICI.
The club was subsequently purchased from ICI by its members who continue to run the club as it is today, as a popular place for socialising, functions, live music and regular sporting events.
The Trimpell is celebrating its 70th birthday this year.
