A popular sports and social club in Morecambe is set to reopen after "an incredibly difficult and uncertain time".
The Trimpell Club shut in August but it was announced on Wednesday that there are plans to reopen towards the end of November.
"We have some amazing news...Trimpell Sports and Social Club has been saved!" said a post on The Trimpell's Facebook page.
"After what has been an incredibly difficult and uncertain time, we are absolutely delighted to finally be able to share the news we’ve all been hoping for — our club has been saved!
"There is still plenty of work to be done, but all going well, we are aiming to reopen towards the end of November. As soon as we have a confirmed opening date, we’ll be sharing it right here and keeping everyone updated along the way.
"To celebrate our reopening, function room hire for all remaining available dates in 2026 will be FREE!
"A £200 refundable deposit will be required to secure your booking, subject to our usual booking terms and conditions.
"We cannot thank everyone enough who has supported, donated, fundraised, shared posts and stood behind Trimpell throughout this journey. The support for our club has been incredible.
"We can’t wait to get the doors back open, welcome everyone back and start making memories at Trimpell Sports & Social Club once again!
"We're coming back!"
The club on Out Moss Lane closed its doors on August 3.
The committee that runs the club said, at the time, they were closing due to advice from the local authorities that urgent safety works were needed at the premises.
‘’We have been advised that urgent works are required within the club to ensure the safety of our members, customers, staff and visitors," said a statement at the time.
‘’The safety of everyone who uses the club is our absolute priority, and the last thing we would ever want to do is put anyone at risk.
‘’Since receiving this advice, the committee has been working around the clock behind the scenes to resolve the issues as quickly as possible. We are doing everything we can to complete the necessary works and reopen the club at the earliest opportunity.
‘’We will continue to keep everyone updated as soon as we have further information and a clearer timescale for reopening.
‘’We understand this news will be disappointing, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding and continued support during this difficult time.’’
An online fundraising appeal was then launched, hoping to raise £60,000 to 'Save Trimpell Sports & Social Club'.
But then an extraordinary meeting was called for August 24 by the club's trustees, "to discuss and vote on a proposal that will allow the trustees to form an interim committee and reopen the club imminently".
This meeting was then cancelled.
Subsequent extraordinary general meetings for members have been held at the club this month, to discuss its future.
