Public toilets have reopened seven days a week in Heysham village for the first time in years.
The toilets will now be open from 8am to 8pm every day.
Heysham Neighbourhood Community (HNC), a group of residents, has agreed a three year lease of the building from Lancaster City Council to keep the toilets open to the public.
A 50p card fee will be required to use them, towards ongoing costs to keep them open.
A refurbishment of the loos has been carried out by Quayside Construction and volunteer project manager Steve Matthews.
News of the reopening was met with positive comments on social media.
Heysham Heritage Centre said: "The most frequently asked question at the Heritage Centre has been 'Where are the nearest public toilets?'"
And the Friends of Heysham Library said: "HNC have been doing fantastic work to get our public toilets back up and running!
"Having these available in our village again will be such an asset to locals and visitors alike."
Cary Matthews from Heysham Neighbourhood Community and a former local councillor, said: "The toilets had been closed since 2018, being temporarily opened for events.
"They were closed mainly because of constant vandalism of facilities and the building. There was no funding available to carry out the repairs, maintenance and cleaning so they remained closed.
"As the councillor for Heysham Central I managed to fight the case for (government) UK Shared Prosperity funding to provide public toilets in the village. The funding received was £99,000. We went out to tender and secured the services of Quayside Construction to do all the work.
"They have been amazing and provide a service above and beyond to make this project work within a very tight budget. The building itself needed a lot of repairs and structural work externally and internally.
"The building is still owned by Lancaster City Council and we (HNC) have had to take on a three year Service Level Agreement to provide the toilets for the public. We are therefore responsible for any ongoing maintenance and repair cost to the building."
