It’s ‘Non-League Day’ this weekend, and Lancaster City are encouraging people to go and support them in their game at Giant Axe.
The Dolly Blues have special cheap tickets available and are staging other initiatives ahead of their match in the Northern Premier League against Nantwich Town, hoping to continue their run of three wins in a row against a Nantwich side in similarly excellent form.
Due to Non-League Day, some changes have been made to ticket prices (exclusive to this game):
- Free ticket for u18s
- £1 entry for university students with valid student ID
- £5 entry for Premier League or EFL season ticket holders (must show valid season ticket)
- Otherwise standard adult (£10) and concessions (£7) prices remain
The Dolly Blues continued their fine form in midweek with an exceptional performance and victory against a good Morpeth side. The win took Lancaster one place above Ashton United into 11th, albeit with an extra game played, and another victory could see them rise as high as 7th if other results go their way.
In the last four games, they have conceded just one goal and kept three clean sheets, remaining solid in defence against some of the league’s toughest sides. Charlie Bailey is also in good form having scored two goals in the last three games. Additionally, Bailey netted in Lancaster’s 2-0 win over Nantwich in December.
Manager, Mark Fell credited The Dollies’ winning run to returning personnel and their stabilising impact: “We haven’t really changed what we do apart from tweaks in games. Andy Teague coming back makes a massive difference because he’s that good – a player of his experience, his ability, especially aerially. We force teams to go long because we press the ball well and they have to try and play over us and in doing that they fall into the way we want them to play. The two loan signings have been very good for us as well.’’
