Celebrations to mark the centenary of Eric Morecambe and a film festival held in the town have been named as finalists in the Lancashire Tourism Awards.
Eric Morecambe 100 and The Bay International Film Festival are both shortlisted in the Small Event category at the countywide awards for excellence in tourism and hospitality.
A series of events was held in Morecambe earlier this year to mark 100 years since the legendary TV comedian, star of Morecambe and Wise, was born in the town on May 14 1926.

The Bay International Film Festival was held for the third time earlier this year, and celebrates film with screenings, workshops, Q&As, exhibitions and other activities across the town.

The other finalists are Affinity Lancashire – SEND Christmas Grotto Weekend, Fleetwood; Chorley 10K & 2K Family Run; and Clitheroe Castle Festival of Archaeology.
Winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony at King George's Hall, Blackburn on Wednesday February 10 2027.

"And a huge congratulations to our friends over at The Bay International Film Festival for their nomination in the same category – a good year for Morecambe!"

Other local finalists were announced earlier this year.
Bay View Holiday Park, Carnforth is a finalist in the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park category, while The Georgian & Regency Tour of Lancaster is named in the Experience of the Year shortlist.
In the Large Visitor Attraction category, RSPB Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay nature reserve, Silverdale is a finalist, while Lancaster’s Toll House Inn is a finalist in Pub of the Year.
Kingfisher Cruises, Lancaster, is shortlisted for the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year prize.
