A man has been jailed after admitting sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Kevin Askew, who also goes by Sean, was jailed for six years, and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
He was also given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which significantly limits his interaction with girls under the age of 16.
Askew, of Far Moss, Northside, Workington, initially denied any wrongdoing but pleaded guilty when presented with the weight of evidence compiled against him by detectives in West Child Protection Team.
Askew pleaded guilty to a number of sexual offences.
All the offences happened in Lancaster.
A police spokesperson said: ‘’We hope this case and its outcome will encourage other victims of sexual abuse – no matter how historic – to come forward.
‘’You can do so knowing you will be listened to, believed and that Lancashire Police will do everything in our power to keep you safe and bring the perpetrator to justice.
‘’If you or somebody you know has been the victim of a sexual offence report it to police via 101 or https://doitonline.lancashire.police.uk/’’
