Police are looking for two people after a car was stolen in Heysham and the same culprits also tried to steal motorbikes.
Det Insp Adie Knowles, of Lancaster and Morecambe Police, said there was a burglary at a house on Heysham Road overnight on Monday and Tuesday.
Speaking on Beyond Radio on Tuesday, Det Insp Knowles said this was near the junction of Rydal Road, where someone had let themselves into an insecure property and taken the car keys to a Mercedes A-class A200 in silver.
"The registration is CA19 KJZ and that vehicle is still outstanding," he said.
"If anyone sees that parked up, please let us know and call 999.
"Two people, we think, have taken that vehicle.
"There were similar looking people on Claremont Crescent (in Morecambe) at around 11.30pm (on Monday) messing with a motorbike trying to steal it.
"The incident at Heysham Road, we think it's around 12.30am (on Tuesday), then they've actually come back to that house and tried to take a motorbike that was in the back yard, and the alarm went off on the bike and that's when the occupants got up."
Det Insp Knowles (below), said there has been a recent trend of insecure properties, where windows have been left open, car keys taken, a vehicle has been stolen and then "used to drive around and commit other offences".

"As the weather is a bit better, people leave windows open, especially on ground level, and leave doors insecure," he said.
"People will try door handles, and I'm not saying this is happening everywhere, and the current trend is burglaries are going down.
"But if you are going out, please don't leave any ground floor windows open and keep your doors locked at all times.
"If you can invest in some decent front door cameras and security lighting, generally burglars don't like those kind of things."
