Police have visited more than 100 off licences, pubs and clubs in Lancaster and Morecambe during a crackdown in the pre-Christmas period.
Officers visited 23 off-licensed premises, testing them using an underage volunteer attempting to buy alcohol and vapes.
All of the premises passed, demonstrating strong compliance.
Plain-clothes officers also visited 40 pubs to ensure the safeguarding scheme ‘Ask for Angela’ was being used correctly. Once again, all venues passed.
A Lancaster Area Police spokesperson, speaking on December 23, said that in total, 150 pubs and clubs were visited by officers and representatives of Lancaster City Council, with plenty of positive feedback from the public.
"Whilst residents and visitors to Lancaster and Morecambe have been eating, drinking and being merry, your local neighbourhood and licensing teams have been hard at work with partners to ensure a safe environment for all to enjoy," said the spokesperson.
"Unfortunately, on one on of these visits, an individual became abusive towards officers and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
"This operation is running as part of the national Winter of Action and will continue through December and into the New Year, to ensure those enjoying our amazing venues can do so safely."
