Police took two off-road bikes out of action after they were ridden dangerously around a popular playing field.
Extensive damage was caused to the grass on King George's Playing Field at Slyne Road on Friday evening, said a spokesperson for Lancaster Area Police.
The spokesperson said police managed to 'sting' the bikes and pop their tyres to stop them.
"These bikes were being ridden around the field in a dangerous manner whilst also causing extensive damage to the grass, which is a well used are for local activities which will now have to be cancelled," said the spokesperson.
