Organisers of events and festivals in Morecambe have been invited to apply for funding from an expected record total pot of money in 2026/27.
Morecambe Town Council announced their fund for festivals and events applications for 2026/7 is now open.
The funding supports local festivals and events that take place in, and deliver benefits for, Morecambe.
A town council spokesperson said that, subject to confirmation in its budget early next year, a record amount of £65,000 is expected to be available.
Over the past year the council awarded more than £55,000 in grants to support events including A Splendid Day Out Victorian Steampunk Festival, Morecambe Punk Festival, Armed Forces Day, Morecambe Pride, Morecambe Poetry Festival, Christmas on the Crescent, Bare Remembers, Barefest, the Promenade Concert Orchestra’s concert season at The Platform, Morecambe 1940s Revival, Morecambe Maritime Festival, and the West End Winter Lantern Festival.
"Morecambe Town Council is planning to invest more than ever before in supporting our local festivals and events scene in the coming financial year and we’re really looking forward to hearing about the creative ideas and exciting plans people have for 2026," said Councillor Lee Bradbury, chair of Morecambe Town Council’s Festivals, Sponsorships and Events Committee.
"Grant application processes can feel daunting for those unfamiliar with them, so I can’t emphasise enough that if anyone is considering applying and has questions that aren’t answered on our website, they should simply email us at hello@morecambe.gov.uk and a member of the team will be happy to help."
Prospective applicants can also sign up for a free grant application webinar delivered by Lancaster District CVS, offering practical tips and advice on submitting strong funding applications.

Eligibility and assessment criteria for Morecambe Town Council’s Festivals and Events Fund can be found on the council’s website, along with the online application form HERE.
The application window closes at noon on Monday February 9 2026.
