A protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine will be held in Lancaster city centre on Sunday (March 6).
The 'Lancaster Stop The War in Ukraine. Global Day of Action' will start at 1pm in Market Square.
This is part of a global day of action against the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and is organised by Lancaster and Morecambe Trades Union Council, and supported by South Lakeland and Lancaster District CND (Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament).
CND, CODEPINK, Stop the War Coalition, and the No to NATO network have called for an international day of anti-war action on Sunday.
* Meanwhile Lancaster Students Support Ukraine organised a protest to show support for Ukraine on the university campus this week.
The protest, which was held in Alexandra Square on Tuesday, was attended by staff, students, and Lancaster residents of all ages and featured speeches from Ukrainian students, staff, and members of the Students’ Union.
