Van den Bergh then moved through the gears to go 2-1 ahead, including back-to-back 180s in the third leg.
Chisnall looked set to level the match after taking out a superb 144 finish in the fourth set.
But Van den Bergh kept his cool to claim the next leg and move into the quarter-finals.
Chizzy had looked impressive in his opening match of the tournament, beating Cameron Menzies without dropping a leg.
