Lancaster footballer Scott McTominay starred as Scotland delivered their first World Cup Finals win since 1998.
The midfielder was in the starting 11 as Scotland defeated Haiti 1-0 on Sunday in Boston, USA, to send the travelling Tartan Army wild.
A deflected John McGinn strike was enough to edge the Scots past their determined opponents, who were themselves playing in their first Finals since 1974.
The win puts Scotland top of Group C after Brazil drew 1-1 with Morocco, leaving Steve Clarke's men within touching distance of reaching the knockout phase at a major tournament for the first time ever.
McTominay, a former pupil of St Wilfrid's Primary School in Halton and Our Lady's in Lancaster, almost gave Scotland the lead in the first-half but his first-time strike came back off the post.
The number four, who'd recovered from a stomach bug to give a typical driving performance, then battled hard alongside his team-mates to grind out the historic win in a nail-biting finish as Haiti pressed for an equaliser.
Scotland next play on Friday night against Morocco, kick off 11pm, before rounding off the group stage with a clash against Brazil on June 24.
