Midfielder Lewis Leigh has joined Morecambe on a two-year deal, subject to FA and National League approval.
The 22-year-old arrives at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium with experience across the EFL and National League.
Born in Preston, Leigh began his footballing journey in the academy system at Liverpool before continuing his development with Preston North End, where he progressed through the youth ranks and signed his first professional contract.
He went on to make his senior debut for the Lilywhites and gained experience in both the Championship and EFL Cup.
The midfielder has also had spells with Bromley, Crewe Alexandra, FC Halifax Town and most recently Chester.
Manager Adam Lakeland said: "I'm delighted to bring Lewis to Morecambe FC. He was excellent for Chester last season and is another player who, despite being only 22, already has experience playing higher up the pyramid.
“Lewis is a midfielder who enjoys getting on the ball and dictating play. He always looks to play forward, has the passing range to switch play quickly, and delivers quality from both open play and set-piece situations, making him another valuable source of creativity for us.
“He also reads the game well, showing excellent awareness through his tackles and interceptions. I believe he has all the attributes to continue developing under our guidance, and I'm looking forward to working with him."
Speaking after completing his move, Lewis said: “The talks were big, for me personally as he showed that ambition of going back up the league. He showed the confidence in me that I can help him do just that.”
