Lancaster City Football Club and Galgate Football Club have joined forces to create a clear pathway for local players to progress from youth to adult football.
The new partnership will see Lancaster City youth players aged 16+ given the opportunity to play in the West Lancashire League for either of Galgate's sides.
The experience of adult football will help develop their footballing abilities in a competitive environment and provide a platform to progress into the Dolly Blues' U23 side and ultimately the first team.
Lancaster City chairman Andy Baker said: "We are delighted to form this partnership with Galgate FC, creating a clear pathway for players to progress from youth football into the adult game.
‘’This is another important step in the club's ambition to promote and develop local football talent while strengthening links within the local football community.
‘’We would like to thank everyone at Galgate FC for their help and cooperation in establishing this partnership, and we wish the club every success for the future"
The club secretary of Galgate, Phil Mitchell said: "The committee and first team manager Andy Killeen welcome this alliance, and would like to thank Lancaster City FC for the opportunity.
‘’We are excited to provide young players with a clear pathway into adult football while helping Galgate FC continue its ambition of competing for titles and trophies.’’
