Lancaster City FC have launched a new Educational Football Academy.
The club have partnered with SGI Education to offer a “unique opportunity” to 16 to 18 year olds to combine high-quality football coaching with further education.
Those who participate will receive a NCFE Level 3 in Sport & Physical Activity qualification.
Participants will be able train like a professional football with the help of elite coaching staff who will allow them to develop skills, improve tactical knowledge and fitness.
In addition to this, there is an educational programme which will help participants gain the NCFE qualification which will prepare them for careers both in and outside of football.
The team who run the academy will provide support to participants to help them reach their full potential.
Important life skills such as leadership and resilience will be developed as a result of the academy.
The programme is designed to help anyone, regardless of whether they want to be a footballer, sports scientist, coach, take on another job in football or a job outside of football altogether.
Trials take place on Monday July 22 and Monday July 29 from 11am at The Giant Axe.
