Morecambe FC has announced the appointment of a new general manager.
Rob Smith was formerly general manager of Fleetwood Town FC, having spent eight years at the Highbury club in various roles.
Smith also spent three years at the University of Central Lancashire studying a BA Hons in sports coaching.
As general manager, he will be responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of the club.
This will involve overseeing all business activities such as matchday and non-matchday operations, commercial and hospitality, marketing, finance, and HR, all while ensuring the club operates successfully and sustainably.
He will work closely with the board of directors to develop key strategies and make decisions which align with the club’s mission and values.
Ben Sadler, former Chief Executive Officer at the Shrimps, left the club in the close season to join Walsall FC.
