Morecambe striker Michael Mellon has received an international call up for Scotland U21s.
The striker has been rewarded for his prolific form by being named in the Scotland U21 squad for their upcoming UEFA Euro Qualifiers at home to Hungary and Malta, on October 13 and 17 respectively.
The 19-year-old, on a season long loan at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium from Burnley, has been called up for the second time, on the back of his excellent start to the season, where he has so far scored six goals in all competitions.
This includes five in League Two, including the opener in the Shrimps’ 2-1 victory away at Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.
Morecambe’s game away at Barrow was postponed last month after the Shrimps received five call-ups to various international squads at under 20, under 21 and senior level.
Mellon was one of these, being part of the squad for the Scotland U21 UEFA Euro Qualifier away against Spain U21.
