Morecambe midfielder Cameron Rooney has joined Northern Premier League side Nantwich Town on a month-long loan.
The 18-year-old, who marked his competitive debut earlier this week with a goal against Barrow in the EFL Trophy, makes the move to the Swansway Stadium to gain more game time in the next stage of his development.
The club say they will continue to monitor Cameron, also providing feedback to him during the loan, and it will be reviewed after the month is complete.
‘’He goes out for a month, see how he does and then we’ll take it from there,’’ manager Derek Adams told Beyond Radio.
‘’It’s not easy when you come in and make your full debut. We didn’t let him know he was going to start (against Barrow) until the evening because we didn’t want him to get nervous. We’re delighted for him.’’
