An exhibition is set to open in Morecambe celebrating the work of a caricature artist and Shrimps fan who is also known for his career in music.
The Peter Blackburn Exhibition will open at Morecambe Library on Wednesday, September 2 for a month.
It will showcase Pete's illustrations, caricatures and football art, including from his decades of supporting Morecambe FC, and will be held in aid of Prostate Cancer Research.
Aside from his skills as an artist, Pete is known as the former proprietor of The View cafe on Morecambe Promenade, as well as his career as a singer, guitarist, comedian and compere.
During his 60-year music career, under the stage name Pete Nelson, he rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in showbiz, including Cliff Richard, The Shadows, Glen Campbell, Joe Brown, Johnny Cash, Duane Eddy, Jim Bowen, Marty Wilde and more.
Pete was also part of Morecambe Football Club for almost 30 years, mainly as a match day steward.
