More Music has joined with the Lancaster Jazz Festival to bring cutting-edge jazz group Let Spin to Morecambe.
Based in London and Berlin, Let Spin are a post-jazz quartet who have been making waves in the UK and European jazz scenes since their formation in 2012 and local people can hear them locally this week.
Their collaborative way of working includes an explosive mixture of stylistic influences and their focus on improvisation leads to incendiary live performances, allowing audiences to experience completely new sound-worlds.
The group are More Music favourites, having delivered workshops and performed here many times. They even have a tune called ‘Morecaambe’ on their album ‘Steal the Light’
From More Music, Ben McCabe said: “We’re glad to be co-promoting another gig with Lancaster Jazz Festival.
‘’We’ve run fantastic shows over the years including sets from Xhosa Cole, Nonunonu, Holding Hands, Zoe Rahman, Chris Potter and more and most recently making a band together at Lancaster High to support Dobbo and Zoe Jones.
‘’I first saw Let Spin one September at the festival performing in Sun Square and it’s great to bring them back with the support of Lancaster Jazz and hopefully their supporters!”
The gig takes place tomorrow, Wednesday April 15, at More Music on Devonshire Road. Head to moremusic.org for ticket details.
