Line-up announced for 2024 music festival in aid of Morecambe and Lancaster schools

The line-up has been announced for an annual music festival which raises funds for schools in Morecambe and Lancaster.

School Aid 2024 will take place over three days from Friday February 9 to Sunday February 11 2024.

The fundraising weekend of music kicks off with the West End Soul Club on the Friday, with soul music DJs Debbie Croft, Nigel Rothwell, Paul Johnson, Darren Mount and Jay Blackburn playing funk, Motown and Northern at The Exchange pub in Morecambe from 7pm. Entry is £3 for one or £5 for two people.

On Saturday the music will take place at The Bobbin in Lancaster, hosted by Beyond Radio's Phill Hayward. It starts at 12 and admission is free.

Live music comes from Rob Jones, Tom Woods, Graham Mumford and Keith Mitchell, David Woods, The Good Souls, Poetry Road, Fruta Madre, The Size, The Swim and Sold to the Sky.

Sunday's full day of live music will come from The Exchange in Morecambe, and will be hosted by Beyond Radio's Greg Lambert. It starts at 12 and admission is free.

Music will come from Elena Reeve, Mark McKenna, Longshot, 3 Chord Truth, Jefferson Moore, Benni Beard, The Glass Poppies, Hungry Souls, The Good Souls, Shelley's Bane, Listen Twice, Fuse and Antiks.

Donations will be taken across the three days, and there will also be raffles and auctions.

The 2023 event raised £6000 split between four local schools - West End and Morecambe Bay in Morecambe, St Patrick's in Heysham and Skerton St Lukes in Lancaster.

School Aid was founded in 2018 by musician Jay Blackburn and aims to help local schoolchildren during these difficult economic times.
