A 'time capsule' note hidden under a floor in Lancaster in 1963 has been found and reunited with the joiner who wrote it.
John Shenton from Halton was 18 years old when he wrote the note on a the back of a cigarette packet in November 7 1963 while laying the floor in a house in Lancaster.
It was found almost 60 years later by Heysham bathroom fitter Dan Fisher as he pulled up the floor while working in the same house.
The note said: "This floor was laid by John E Shenton, Halton, Age 18, 7th Nov 1963."
Dan decided to try to track John down and went to visit the Halton address on the note.

He was told John didn't live there any more, but that he'd moved round the corner.
Dan then knocked on John's door and reunited him with the note, almost 60 years on!
"He looked a bit shocked," said Dan.
"I'm not sure if he could remember writing it but he could remember working on that street.
"He told me he still does the odd job now.
"It's amazing what you find in this job, you find a lot of things!"
