A new traditional bakery run by a young married couple has enjoyed a successful opening day in the West End of Morecambe.
JP Bakery which opened on Regent Road on Monday, is run by Pawel Cwartnicki and his wife Joanna Czwartnicka.
They said they'd had a busy opening day and plan to open from 6.30am every day, selling bread freshly baked on the premises.
The bakery sells sourdough bread, bread rolls, croissants and baguettes, as well as pastries, cakes and hot drinks.
Pawel and Joanna, who are originally from Poland, said they'd had a "very busy first day".
"We thought about opening a restaurant or a pub, but it was hard to find the right place," said Pawel.
"And then we thought, there's nothing like walking past a bakery and the smell of proper bread. You can't buy proper bread from a supermarket, it's just not the same as freshly home-made bread."
Pawel and Joanna, and their two-year-old son Pawel, even had customers come specially from Barrow to buy from them on their first day of business!
JP Bakery, which is named after Joanna and Pawel's initials, is pictured below.
