A group helping residents with their energy use is celebrating major successes at a north west awards ceremony.
Green Rose CIC won the prestigious ‘Small Scale Project of the Year’ award for its ‘Greener Homes in Lancashire’ scheme, at the North West Regional Energy Efficiency Awards.
In addition to the category win, the Lancaster-based organisation and its team received multiple regional commendations recognising excellence in customer support, professional development and partnership working.
Green Rose CIC was highly commended in Regional Vulnerable Customer Support Organisation of the Year, Ashlea Hughes was highly commended for Regional Trainee/Apprentice of the Year and Rachel Coupe was highly commended for Regional Business Development Manager of the Year.
The evening also recognised the strength of Green Rose’s collaboration with partners across Lancashire, as Blackpool Council were highly commended for Regional Council of the Year and the Cosy Homes in Lancashire scheme, delivered by Green Rose CIC with Rhea Projects Limited and Blackpool Council, was commended for Regional Large Scale Project (>£250k) of the Year
These awards reflect the impact of strong partnership working between community organisations, councils and delivery partners to improve home energy efficiency at scale.
Greener Homes in Lancashire provides free, independent advice about home improvements, helping homeowners and landlords make informed decisions about improvements such as solar panels, battery storage, and heat pumps.
The scheme is backed by all the councils in Lancashire and if residents want to go ahead with installing measures then the Greener Homes in Lancashire team can arrange for trusted local installers to do the work.
Green Rose was highly commended for Regional Vulnerable Customer Support Organisation of the Year to highlight its commitment to supporting residents experiencing fuel-poverty through tailored advice, advocacy and hands-on casework, helping people stay warm and well in their homes.
Ashlea Hughes was recognised for her outstanding contribution and professional growth within Green Rose. Having joined only a short time ago, she has now progressed to Senior Home Energy and Retrofit Advisor since being nominated for the award.
Rachel Coupe was recognised for her work in building strategic partnerships and expanding Green Rose’s reach to provide retrofit and energy advice services across Lancashire.
“We are absolutely delighted to receive this recognition, which reflects the hard work of our team and our partners across Lancashire," said James Sommerville, Green Rose CIC director.
"At a time when high energy costs continue to make life difficult for households, the free advice we provide has never been more important.”
Green Rose CIC, based in Marketgate, provides independent energy advice and retrofit support to households, landlords and local authorities. Through projects including Greener Homes and Cosy Homes in Lancashire, the organisation works to reduce fuel poverty, lower carbon emissions and improve the comfort of homes across the region.
