A famous potted shrimps producer from Morecambe Bay has been again awarded a warrant to supply the Royal family.
James Baxter & Son was one of 386 companies to be granted the accolade by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The company previously held a Royal Warrant to provide potted shrimps to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
A Royal Warrant of Appointment is a document that permits a company to use the Royal Arms in connection with its business in an appointed trading capacity. It is granted for up to five years at a time as a mark of recognition for the ongoing supply of goods or services to the Royal Household.
Baxters Potted Shrimps was established in 1799 and became one of the oldest – if not the oldest – family firm in Morecambe.
The company was based for many years on Thornton Road in Morecambe and now operates from Moor Lane in Flookburgh.
The family arrived in the area in the 1600s, and in the early days combined farming with fishing.
The fishing side of the business grew with the growth of Morecambe, and Baxters was founded in 1799 by James Baxter.
The firm has been potting shrimps for 130 years, and has never altered the basic process and secret original recipe.

Baxters were first awarded the Royal Warrant in the 1960s by the late Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, who loved their potted shrimps.
They were first awarded the Royal Warrant by Queen Elizabeth II in the 1970s.
The Royal Warrants of Appointment announced this month were the second of King Charles III's reign.

The grants were made to 386 companies drawn from those previously holding a single Royal Warrant of Appointment to Queen Elizabeth II, together with seven companies that have an established and ongoing trading relationship with HM Queen Camilla.
These grants follow 152 Royal Warrants granted by Their Majesties in May, to companies drawn from those previously holding a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty as Prince of Wales, who began granting Warrants in 1980.
