A former bar and hotel overlooking Morecambe seafront has been unsold at an auction.
The Queens at 273-274 Marine Road Central, which has been closed for more than a decade, went under the hammer on January 14.
The hotel was Lot 58 at the online auction, held by auctioneers Auction House North West.
The 19th century Grade II listed venue has been shut for more than a decade but was a popular hotel and nightclub in its heyday.
The guide price for the auction was £275,000 plus fees, for a freehold tenure.
Ahead of the auction, Auction House North West said: "The Queens Hotel, 273–274 Marine Road Central, presents a significant seafront redevelopment and investment opportunity in one of Morecambe’s most high-profile locations.
"Set directly on the promenade with uninterrupted views across the bay, the property occupies a substantial footprint and offers exceptional scope for investors, developers or operators looking to capitalise on the town’s rapidly evolving landscape. Its prominent position, generous internal layout and strong frontage make it suitable for a wide variety of future uses with relevant permissions.
"The building lends itself particularly well to full redevelopment or a comprehensive repositioning scheme.
"Its scale and configuration mean it could be transformed into a modern hotel operation, an apart-hotel concept, high-quality residential accommodation or a mixed-use development, all subject to the necessary planning consents.
"The current owner has had plans drawn which are available upon request."
The Queens has also been known as Pacha's and Baroque during its history.
