Stars of the Lancaster and Morecambe stage have been celebrating after winning at a musical theatre awards night.
The District 11 NODA Awards (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) took place on Saturday and there were many winners from our local area.
They included Sophie Butler, who won two individual awards - Best Director of a Musical for the Morecambe AODS (Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society)'s adaptation of 'Made in Dagenham' at the Lancaster Grand last year, as well as Best Director of a Youth Musical for MY Theatre's version of 'We Will Rock You' performed at Moor Space in Lancaster in 2023. Sophie's theatre company MY Theatre also won Best Youth Musical.
MY Theatre and MAODS also won other awards, as did LADOS (Lancaster Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society) for their 'Sister Act' show at the Grand, and Morecambe Warblers for 'The Addams Family' and Lancaster Red Rose AODS for 'Little Shop of Horrors'.

NODA North West District 11 covers these areas within North Lancashire and South Cumbria: Lancaster, Garstang, Barrow-in-Furness, South Lakeland, Lunesdale and Ulverston. The awards celebrate the achievements of groups and individuals for productions from the the previous 12 months.
