Lancaster University has once again been ranked as the best higher education institution in the North West.
The university came top in the annual list compiled by the Complete University Guide 2023.
Overall Lancaster ranked 11th out of 130 universities across the UK for the second year running.
Within the North West region, which includes 12 universities, Lancaster also came top for its ‘Research Intensity’ and ‘Completion’ of degrees by its students.
Professor Andy Schofield, vice-chancellor of Lancaster University, said: “It is fantastic to see Lancaster University retain its position as the top-ranked university in our region as well as maintain our solid ranking among the best universities nationally in the Complete University Guide’s latest league table.
“Lancaster combines excellence in cutting-edge and impactful research with a strong track record of teaching, along with a friendly and welcoming collegiate atmosphere, providing an exceptional educational experience for our students.”
The Complete University Guide league table is based on 10 measures: Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Graduate Prospects – outcomes, Graduate Prospects – on track, Student-Staff Ratio, Spending on Academic Services, Spending on Student Facilities, and Completion. It includes 130 institutions.
