From playing Baldrick to taking on a werewolf in an award-winning horror film - Alex Candlin from Carnforth is having an exciting time in his fledgling acting career.
Alex began acting in 2022 and has quickly earned acclaim for a string of performances, including most recently in 'Don't Forget 4' which has won a string of awards.
He received a Best Actor award from the Hollywood Indie Festival and a Silver Acting Award from the Paris Film Awards for his performance as John McCarthy, a soldier who is caught up in a terrifying situation.
Alex himself has been a member of the Reserves - the volunteer reserve force of the British Army - for 12 years.
He also works as a social media producer for BFBS (the British Forces Broadcasting Service) having previously worked as a news reporter for The Westmorland Gazette and The Mail in Barrow.
Alex says acting has become his passion and his long-term goal is to make it into a full-time career.

'Don't Forget 4' was created by filmmaker Dave Montaze and filmed in Salford.
Alex said the plot centres around a group of friends who "go down to a mysterious forest for a holiday".
"I play a guy called John who is a soldier, and he's going to propose to his girlfriend," he said.
"We find this mysterious creature there, a woman called Laura who is a werewolf/vampire who starts stalking us.

"It was a fun one to make. The film was premiered in Manchester and will be released at some point in the future.
"I didn't expect it to go this far. I was about to go on exercise with the Reserves and I got a text about the (Paris) award. I didn't see it coming. A few months later the Hollywood festival got in touch as well and that was really flattering."
Alex has so far appeared in six films, 25 short films and 11 theatre shows, including starring in the iconic role of Baldrick, the long-suffering manservant of Blackadder in a stage remake of the hit sitcom by the Lancaster Footlights.
In April he will appear in Hay Fever by Noel Coward by the Warton Drama Group, at the Heron Theatre at Beetham; and he has been cast in Frankenstein by the Lancaster Footlights at the Grand Theatre in October.
