A march in solidarity with women who are victims of violence - calling for safe spaces for everyone - is set to take place in Morecambe.
The Lancaster and Morecambe Intersectional Uprising campaign will hold the protest starting from the Eric Morecambe Statue at 11am on Saturday, January 17.
The peaceful and inclusive march - part of a series of nationwide demonstrations on Saturday - is being held to draw attention to the number of violence, sexual offence and domestic abuse cases in the Morecambe and Lancaster area, and the wider UK.
"One in four women in the UK experience sexual assault or rape," said a spokesperson for Intersectional Uprising.
"Most survivors never report. Most victims know the perpetrator.
"In Lancashire, thousands of sexual offences were recorded in 2025.
"This is not rare. This is not isolated. This is happening here.
"Come march. Come stand. Come and be heard."
Intersectional Uprising is a nationwide grassroots feminist collective raising the voices of those oppressed and discriminated against — across race, sexual identity, disability, and beyond.
They organise marches and actions to create awareness, challenge broken systems, and push for real change.
