The MP for Lancaster and the children from TV's Radford family were among those who dressed up to mark World Book Day.
Cat Smith MP dressed as 'The Cat in the Hat' for a visit to Bowerham Primary School where she read to children and presented prizes for the best dressed.
"Encouraging a love of reading helps your child learn and develop in a fun way," she said.
"I hope that all the children enjoy spending their book tokens and exploring new books."

Meanwhile TV's The Radford family from Morecambe, stars of the Channel 5 show '22 Kids and Counting', also got dressed up for World Book Day.

And Morecambe FC mascot Christie the Cat paid a visit to local schools to mark World Book Day. Here he is at Dallas Road Community Primary in Lancaster.

Willow Lane Primary School in Lancaster also celebrated the big day.
