A training exercise is taking place today off Morecambe Promenade to help prepare teams to protect our coastline in case of pollution.
Vehicles and personnel will be taking part in the exercise at The Battery on Wednesday, September 23.
A post on the Lancaster City Council Facebook page said: "If you're in Morecambe today you may notice a number of vehicles, specialist equipment and personnel taking part in a training exercise at the Battery.
"We're hosting a Beachmasters course delivered by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, bringing together officers from local authorities and partner organisations across the region.
"The practical exercise will include the deployment of booms and other equipment used in responding to coastal pollution incidents, helping ensure organisations are prepared to protect our coastline and environment if they are ever needed."
